Epoxidized palm oil can be used as a plasticizer for polylactic acid. Epoxidized palm oil is an epoxidized derivative of a mixture of esters of glycerol with various saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. Myristic and palmitic acids, derived primarily from palm oil, are also used as plasticizers in cellulosic polymers.
